Catch-22

Catch-22
by Joseph Heller
Directed by Claire Moyer

Disillusioned bombardier Yossarian has only one goal--to live forever. He tries everything to get out of flying dangerous missions, but unfortunately, there’s always a catch: Every time Yossarian comes close to getting away from the war, the brass raises his mission quota, leaving him endlessly embroiled in military bureaucracy. Featuring a bizarre cast of characters, Joseph Heller’s stage adaptation of his classic satirical novel asks what it means to be sane while surrounded by madness.

Lenny cares for the grandfather who raised her as he dies, Meg grapples with dreams that didn’t come true, and Babe squares off against an abusive spouse. It’s a portrait of a dysfunctional family, but Beth Henley’s Pulitzer prize winning play finds laughter within tragedy.

Mary Rose, by J.M. Barrie - Venture Reading Series

"The PAC was originally launched in 2008 as an opportunity to simply hear the words of classical texts read aloud, in a room, for all to listen and enjoy. What began as a low-key and informal gathering of actors and artists with a shared love of the language has evolved into a core part of our mission statement: an evening to delight in long-forgotten words, read aloud by the finest actors we can gather, free of charge."
